I loved this book. Takes place mostly in Italy and involves time travel. Lots of historical background and some fictional details. Just hated finishing this book. I hope the author will write a sequel. Totally unexpected as I read the book as part of a study for the publisher. While in a church, perusing the journal of early Renaissance fresco master Gabriele Accorsi, she blacks out and somehow (the physics of time travel are not this novel's concern) wakes up in 1347 Siena. There were many aspects of this book that I just loved. The characters were well developed, interesting, and their were explained. I loved the setting and contrasts between Siena in 1347 and today - well researched with focal points of the buildings. Especially the Duomo and Campo.
